1. BOOKS –

Right now I am reading One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest by Ken Kesey. It is hard to read books for leisure in high School because I have to read so many for classes. But, in middle school I was really into the Series of Unfortunate Events, Harry Potter series and the Cirque du Freak series. I tended to like a particular type pf book and continued with their series.

2. NEWSPAPERS/MAGAZINES –

I do get Moviemaker, EGM (Electronic Gaming Magazine, Entertainment Weekly and Time but don’t read them that often. If I do read them it is to see a film, TV or game review.

3. MUSIC –

I love music! I mostly like any branch of rock (alternative, classic rock, metal, punk, etc.). My favorite music now Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Beatles, Muse, The Strokes, and Rage Against the Machine. My uncle went to High School with guitarist Tom Morello. I would love to do a film short on him.
I always listen to music when playing games or when I’m on facebook. I’m listening to music right now. I also listen to music while walking home from school and before I go to sleep. Basically any time I can listen to music I do.
As for the format, I pretty much stacked my Mac with well over 7000 songs. How I listen to music? I have an itouch ipod (30GB pre 3G).

The best experience I had last summer was going to Lollapalooza in Chicago. It is a three daylong concert in August with 174 bands within three days. There were three headliners. On Friday Radio Head, Saturday Rage Against the Machine and Sunday was Nine Inch Nails, which I worked my way up to the front row. I live close to Chicago so I took the train in every day. bellow is my favorite unreleased song by the strokes (I LOVE THE STROKES!!!)




4. TELEVISION –

I really like the Office, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, King of the Hill, Family Guy, Simpson’s, Seinfeld, and Flight of the Concords. We don’t get HBO so I have to watch Flight of the Concords on DVD. For my birthday last year I got tickets to one of their concerts. Jemaine and Bret, both from New Zealand, are not only great musicians but they are very funny.
My favorite TV show has to be Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I guess you can say I like comedies more than anything else.
I also like the show Home Movies. Home Movies only has reruns now but when I was younger Brendon Small’s, the main character, love for movies got me interested in movies. It is a funny show. Brendon Small is the actual creator of the show and of the animated show Metalocayypse is about a comedy about a death metal band called Dethlok. I went to the Dethklok concert in Chicago, right before Lollapalooza. Flight of Concords and Metalocayypse are two shows that combine my love for music and comedy.

5. VIDEO GAMES –

Oh man, I am a huge video game nerd. Right now I’m playing World of Warcraft. I love “WoW” because it is like a big social networking site only a lot more interactive! I also play a lot of xbox 360 games (I posted my WoW and xbox live info on my knowledge tree post) right now I am playing a lot of Call of Duty, World at War, and Fallout 3. I like Fallout because I have always been fascinated with post apocalyptic games and movies. Bellow is the teaser trailer to fallout 3



6. COMPUTERS –

Ha, ha. Yes I use the computer very much. I have a G5 Intel iMac. It’s not the newest box ever but it can handle my needs (by that I mean it can run Final Cut Pro, itunes and WoW ha-ha). I am a Mac fan boy. I love the seamless flow of all of their software and innovative creative tools (like expose, spaces, time machine etc). I spend a lot time at the computer. I try to do about one hour a day on weekdays and more of the weekend to edit. I am editing a film right now on the past election. It is hard because there is so much footage. I am under pressure to get it done for upcoming film festivals.

7. INTERNET –

1) I am Stephen Sotor I’m 16 and a junior in high school. I live in Elmhurst IL (about 15 miles from Chicago) and I am a filmmaker. I have been making films since 6th grade and one day I want to go to film school. I have traveled all over because of my films including Japan Vietnam Singapore Serbia and all over the US. I love movies, music and video games I have a X-box. My gamer tag is "Sotordamotor1". I’m kind of quiet (depending on my mood) and an observer. I like to study history and science subjects. As you can see by my horrible grammar, English is not one of my favorite subjects but I do like reading books.



(2. As I said I love movies music and video games. Right now I’m playing Fallout 3 (I just got the new expansion off X-box live), Call of Duty 5 W.A.W., Fable 2 also the expansion, Left 4 Dead, the Orange Box and World of War craft (Goligon lv 76 hunter moonrunner). As for movies you can see some of my favorites on my profile but I like comedies and horror films butt no horror films ever make my favorite list. I also like action films. Drama films, I love them or hate them. I just saw Slumdog Millionaire and instantly became one of my favorites. When I get out of college in addition to making movies I want to review movies and games. I’m kinda quiet (depending on my mood) and an observer. As far as a media experience and its power, nothing can convey an opinion quite like a film.


(3. I am concerned about us kids not having a voice in the world and the lack of rights for us in schools. Just recently the school stopped letting us come up with ideas for our movies in our media class. Instead they provide ideas for us. We cannot protest complain or petition.
